5 MUST-HAVE Starter Farms for Minecraft

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another Minecraft guide. Today, we’re diving into five essential starter farms that you can build right at the beginning of your 1.21 world. These farms are simple, efficient, and overpowered, making your early-game survival a breeze. Let’s jump right in!

1. The Humble Cow Crusher 🐄

Why You Need It:
Food is a top priority in early-game Minecraft, and cooked beef is one of the best food sources. Plus, leather is crucial for enchanting setups!

How It Works:

  • Breed cows using wheat.
  • Once 24 cows are crammed, entity cramming kills them, dropping beef and leather.
  • Drops automatically collect in a chest.

Materials Needed:

  • 1 Hopper
  • 1 Chest
  • 1 Stair
  • 8 Blocks
  • 1 Fence
  • 1 Water Bucket
  • 2 Cows

Build Steps:

  1. Dig 2 blocks, place a chest and hopper.
  2. Place an upside-down stair and build walls around it.
  3. Add water, lure cows in with wheat, and seal the farm.

Pro Tip: Hook this up to an auto-smelter for instant cooked beef!

2. Auto-Smelter & XP Farm 🔥

Why You Need It:
Smelting resources manually is tedious. This auto-smelter also doubles as an XP farm, letting you go from 0 to 30 levels in seconds!

How It Works:

  • Load raw items (beef, ores) into the top chest.
  • Fuel (coal/lava) goes in the back chest.
  • Flick levers to collect XP from furnaces.

Materials Needed:

  • 2 Double Chests
  • 4 Hoppers
  • 2 Furnaces
  • 2 Levers
  • Some temporary blocks

Build Steps:

  1. Place a double chest with hoppers feeding into furnaces.
  2. Add hoppers for fuel input and output.
  3. Connect levers to lock hoppers for XP collection.

Bonus: Use lava buckets from the next farm for infinite fuel!

3. Infinite Lava Farm 🌋

Why You Need It:
Running out of coal? No problem! This farm gives you unlimited lava buckets for fuel.

How It Works:

  • Dripstone slowly drips lava into cauldrons.
  • Collect lava buckets automatically.

Materials Needed:

  • 16 Cauldrons
  • 16 Lava Buckets (start with 1 and expand)
  • Dripstone blocks
  • Cobblestone (non-flammable)
  • Wooden trapdoors

Build Steps:

  1. Place a 4×4 grid of cauldrons.
  2. Build a cobblestone frame above them.
  3. Add dripstone and lava source blocks.
  4. Use trapdoors to prevent lava spread.

Pro Tip: This pairs perfectly with the auto-smelter for fuel-free cooking!

4. Super-Fast Cobblestone Generator ⛏️
